Payments & Costs
How much is the deposit?
$249 due at pick-up, refunded within 30 days after you return the vehicle.
When is my payment due?
The same day of the week you picked up your car; it is billed automatically to your card on file.
What's included in my first payment?
The $249 security deposit, your first week's rental rate, and any add-ons you selected.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit or debit card only, in the renter's name. We don't accept cash, Venmo, or CashApp.
Vehicle & Requirements
Who can drive the vehicle?
Only the registered renter is authorized to drive. No additional drivers.
What types of vehicles are available?
We have a variety of models like Sedans (Uber X, Comfort & Hybrid eligible), Crossovers (Comfort eligible), and SUVs (XL, Black & Premier). Please check car availability for your chosen vehicle by phone.
Can I use the car on other gig platforms?
Yes, you get an insurance card and registration to use on other platforms. Note that not all platforms accept Ucars vehicles.
Can I drive out of state?
Yes, but a $100/day out-of-area fee applies. You must notify us of your destination and duration. Vehicles cannot leave the US.
Application & Pick-Up
How do I get my vehicle registration?
Through the Ucars App: Go to Documents → Car Documents → Registration.
What is CDW and do I need it?
CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) costs $35/week and covers you with a $0 deductible. It's required and must stay active.
Maintenance & Support
Who covers maintenance costs?
Ucars covers all routine maintenance at Element Fleet Management locations — oil changes every 3,000–5,000 miles, tire rotations every 10,000 miles.
What do I do if I get into an accident?
Call 911 first. Then take photos, exchange info, and call Ucars to report it. We'll guide you through the next steps.
What if my car needs a tow?
Call us at +1 888-524-8449. Keep the keys with the vehicle at all times.
Returns & Policies
How do I return my vehicle?
Schedule your return through the Ucars App with at least 7 days notice. Unscheduled returns carry a $50 fee.
What are your operating hours?
Offices open 9am–5pm local time. Driver support is available 24/7 by phone or text at +1 888-524-8449.
